temperature, precipitation, humidity, crop phenology, and host–pathogen interactions. Rising
temperatures can accelerate pest development, expand geographic ranges, increase generations
per season, and enhance the establishment of invasive species. Similarly, changing climatic
conditions may favor the emergence, persistence, and transmission of fungal, bacterial, viral,
and nematode pathogens. This review examines the impacts of climate variability and extreme
weather events on crop pests and diseases, associated changes in outbreak patterns, and
implications for agricultural productivity and food security. It also highlights climate-smart
integrated pest and disease management strategies, emphasizing surveillance, resistant varieties,
biological control, precision technologies, and adaptive forecasting approaches for resilient crop
production.
